Muhsine Helimoğlu Yavuz's book "Diyarbakir Legends" includes a saga, "Zembilfroş", one of the sagas that was also told by my granddad. Instead of the version in the book, it was my granddad's version that impressed me all the time, as he told it to us when we were little. Zembilfroş (the basket seller) is a protagonist that gets lost inside the very same basket that he is knitting to forget his troubles, the basket he had been knitting all through his life and united with. It has always been a powerful metaphor for me that this protagonist vanishes into the unknown.
